Snapshot of the 1st season from Coach Smith-Corso Lessons from First Robotics- Our rookie year in First Robotics was incredible. We were able to compete in one tournament and we got a feel for the excitement of robotics. The students learned so much! Being a rookie team, the students started with no experience. The first thing students learned was how to read a schematic and break down the steps to begin to build. Then they learned how to use the tools to begin to build the robot. This hands-on part of robotics was fun for the students. They loved using the riveter! Learning to code was a challenge for the team. Other teams really supported us here. A local team sent members over to help us, and at the tournament several teams stopped by to help us out. The First Robotics community is truly wonderful. We are looking forward to this year and hope to be able to pay it forward and help other rookie teams.
