Mr. Tanton's Web Page

Hello everybody.  I am very excited to be back for a third year teaching  at Carsonville-Port Sanilac! A little background on myself, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2008 with an Elementary Education major and a Middle School Science minor. Prior to arriving at C-PS, my first teaching position (2008-09) was at Saint Croix Falls Middle School in Wisconsin, where I taught four blocks of 6th grade science.

These are great communities, and I'm thrilled to be teaching at C-PS Elementary. This has been like a homecoming for me, as my parents and a majority of my relatives live nearby. My grandparents met at the Carsonville Public School, both graduating in 1941.

We have gone to a traditional middle school format in the upper elementary grades. This year I will be teaching 5 50-minute blocks of science consisting of one fourth grade, two fifth grade, and two sixth grade classes. In addition, I will have a homeroom group of 6th graders that I will be mentoring.

We offer many extracurricular opportunities for a school our size. I'm currently involved with 6th grade battle of the books, elementary girls (5th-6th grade) and high school boys (assistant varsity) basketball, along with junior high boys (7th-8th grade) track.

If you have any questions, please contact me by phone or by e-mail. Phone- (810) 657-9318 ext. 255, and e-mail- ctanton@carsport.k12.mi.us.
