CPS Universal Breakfast Program
The Universal Breakfast Program is now complete and all students K-12 are being offered Breakfast at no charge on a daily basis.
The K-6 program began on November 24th and the program for grades 7-12 started on January 26th. In the Elementary K-6 building, we are averaging over 90% participation.
The district recognizes the importance of starting the day with a well balanced meal. Studies show that students who have eaten breakfast are more alert and attentive in class and show a decrease in tardiness and absenteeism. Offering a healthy breakfast at school will give busy families another option for ensuring this important meal is eaten.
We are very excited to be able to offer this and feel confident that it will have a positive effect on each student that participates. The reimbursable revenue from the breakfast program allows us to offer the program at no additional cost to the District.
Carsonville – Port Sanilac is the third School District in the State of Michigan to offer this Breakfast Program
