assignment 1- Expectations and basic drawing skills
Project 7 - Students will film and produce a video using their stick puppets.
Project 6 - Students will create a video story board for filming.
Project 5 - Students will create a stick puppet based on the story provided with detail to be used in video.
Project 4 - Students will, be divided into groups to create a paper mache castle. We will study the parts of a castle and paper mache techniques.
Project 3- Students will design a heraldic shield to represent themselves.
Project 2 - Students will use the skills they have developed to create a drawing based on the reading that includes three characters, three grounds and is finished with 5 values of shading or tone.
Project 1 - Students will read a story and use it as source material for a drawing project. They will learn sketching techniques, rough drawing techniques, and final drawing skills - Discussion of line, shape, value and the three grounds will take place.

Current Project 6- Students will develop a paper mache' project based on their drawings or a selected subject.
Current project 5 - Students will choose their favorite dream car or house and use it to learn grid drawing techniques. These drawings will be developed with the three values and spot color.
Current project 4 - Students will choose a fairy tale story to do a drawing of and then turn it into a tunnel book
Current project 3 - Students will use patterns to make 5 Putz houses and decorate them for Christmas
Current project 2 - Students are working on story illustrations.
Current Project 1 - Drawing shadows and simple objects.

will use a photograph of themselves and the grid method to create a self-portrait
Current project 4 - students will make haunted houses from recycled materials. there are a series of activities before they actually plan and build their houses. Project due October 26.
Current project 3 - Students will use a paper bag to make a totem for our totem pole. We will create totems in a Northwest Indian tribal design. Due Oct 7.
Current project 2 - personal logo designs based on animal totems. This project teaches the use of grids to help in drawing comparisons. Due Sept 28
Current project 1- Artist Trading Cards and the concept of the element Line. Completed or past due Sept 22
