Welcome to Mrs. Bartley's Ocean Express
By Patricia Bartley
Welcome to 2009!
I am Mrs. Bartley and I teach in the elementary resource room. I enjoy my job as a special education teacher. Grandma Vee is still with us as our foster grandparent.
We can have students from kindergarten to 6th grade. Each year I get together with parents and teachers for an IEP, Individualized Education Plan. We create goals and objectives for students to reach. Each student has their own goals. I reinforce the general education class work, while working on individual goals. Depending on the student, I may teach them math, reading, and/or writing.

Each year we
raise money for 3 causes in our community. This year we again have
the school store that is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from
3:00-3:10. We have a buy one get one free sale.

We have raised money for the Port Huron Hospital. We adopted a penguin that went to a sick child in the hospital during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. We raised $25 this year. We even got to go to the Festival of Trees and put our penguin, Joncena, into the penguin pond. We had fun decorating cookies, watching a play and even went on a carousal ride.
We are now raising money for Jump Rope for Heart. After March 17th, we will be raising money for Relay for Life. We will be selling candy bars as well as pencils, pens, notebooks, erasers and pencil sharpeners.
Upcoming events:
Be on the lookout for our Restaurant. It will be at the beginning of February.
