Welcome to Kindergarten!
As you may know, my name is Marie Willis. I have been teaching Kindergarten for 5 years. I have been a teacher at CPS for 21 years. I love my job!! Everyday is a new experience!!
It is very important for you child to attend school. Much of what we do daily can not be sent home as homework. I do understand this is a year your child is being exposed to many new germs! So if your child is sick, keep them home! Tables are cleaned at least twice daily!
Additional information: Your child is given a folder, please be sure to send this with them daily. It really helps to know that lunch money/notes will be in there! I also send papers home in it for you to look at. We do have a daily snack. Parents are asked to send in a snack for the whole class to share. (crackers, cheese, pretzels, vegies..etc.) Milk is NOT given during snack time. If you want to send a special juice/drink for snack time it is fine. I send a weekly newsletter to keep you informed on what is going on in the classroom, or any item your child might need for the next week.
