Welcome to the homepage of Mr. Thurston, Grade 4.

Our class loves to read!  Our Fall theme will be:  FALL INTO READING

As the images suggest, Social Studies is very important to me.  By learning about the past, we can build upon those successes for the future of our great nation!

In Math, we use Everyday Mathematics, a highly successful program designed to provide concrete experiences for our learners.

Our Readers and Writers are in Reading/Writing Workshops, working to improve by leaps and bounds our reading and writing abilities.  Readers also are Making Meaning in their reading lives!

**LATE WORK in my room is automatically docked 20% off the final score unless the student was absent on the day we assigned the work, or prior arrangement with the teacher has been made.

I have moved to Grade 4!  I have some enthusiastic learners and am looking forward to a great school year!

We are preparing for the MEAP test in October by reviewing key concepts in ELA and Math.

CPS Elementary will host three Accelerated Reader contests through out this school year, so I encourage my students to READ, READ, READ!!
