                         INTO A NEW YEAR!

    WELCOME TO SPEECH AND LANGUAGE!

"I am excited to begin the 2011-2012 school year  building great communication skills with your child.  It is my pleasure to have the chance to work with your child to improve communication skills allowing for a more confident and successful future."

My name is Debra Kaluk.  I graduated from Central Michigan University in 1989 with a Bachelors degree and in 1991 with a Masters degree as a Speech/Language Pathologist. I later earned my Triple C's certification in 1994. I spent 6 years of my elementary school years receiving speech/language therapy assistance.  Therefore, I always knew in my heart communication was the gift I could bring to others.

As I am entering my 21st year as a Speech and Language Pathologist, I can tell you there have been many changes in the area of communication disorders. There have also been many changes in the education setting.  However, the constant that remains is the love I have for what I do and the desire I have to help children.

I reside in Mayville Michigan with my husband of 18 years Matthew. We have 3 children Jennifer, Maria, and Michael.  We live on a "mini" farm and enjoy swimming, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting together, and playing with our dog Jo-Jo.

My greatest accomplishments in life has been my family and having a job I love to do.

If you have a concern regarding your child's communication skills please don't hesitate to contact me.  Areas of concern could be articulation skills (the way sounds are verbalized) and/or language skills (vocabulary, semantics, syntax, following directions, comprehension skills).

I am here at CPS on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
